What a beautiful dog and pictures Coach!
I am feeling exactly the same.
It hurts like hell and we are missing him like crazy.
My wife is in the same state of mind as your wife was.
Seeing her cry makes the situation even more difficult.

Coach,

I'm with Billy on this one. That last pic is way too cool.
The blue hue sets the tone. Well done but sorry nonetheless. Pics last a lifetime!

In the last picture, look just above the little bush in the yard and zoom in.

You will see a COYOTE.

Rusty is telling that “kitty killin” no good, S.O.B. to get his filthy, rotten, stinkin, carcASS out of our yard!

Coach,
Yep,Luvvy passed away over 18 years ago and it still hurts.

Can't have any more dogs due to the fact I could not keep up with a pooch and it will outlive me. And I do not know who or what would take care of the pooch after I am gone.

Want to do some more traveling and will not put a dog in a kennel.....ever.

About Ol' Rusty...did he take most of the blankets at night?? Luvvy did.

Wayne

Wayne:

Rusty was truly an outside dog. If we ever could get him to come in the house, he would go stand by the door until we let him out.

He preferred to sleep in his bed on the porch and guard the place. Occasionally, a coyote, coon, or possum would insult him by coming up to the porch to steal some of his food.

Over the years, he killed 2 coyotes, at least a dozen coons, and more possums than I could count. No matter what it was, when he grabbed them, you could hear the bones crunching.

We could always rest easy knowing that Rusty was outside. Since we live a half mile off the highway, and back in the woods, Rusty was as good of Home Security as you can get.

I had to get 2 hound puppies (Ricky & Ruby) for my wife. She has babied and spoiled those 2 puppies til they are rotten. Whether or not they grow up to be as good of dogs as Rusty was, is still to be determined. I sure hope so. Here they are:

Me neither!

Your dog killed coyote's, wow I had to read op about them, but they aren't small animals. They look dangerous for pets and small children.
Cute dogs you have know!

When we travel, we either take them with us or get one of my daughters to “dog sit”. One daughter is a school counselor and is off during the Summertime. The other daughter is an attorney and can work from home at times.

Thanks Sphinx.
