Tom--

What I remember is that the BP agents who ordered knives had the option also of buying a cherry display case. Again, not all of them wanted the case.

Found another USBP 14. #115, still has the Randall stickers on the wooden display case.

Mine has a 10 peso note folded and in the stone pocket, put there by the original owner. Accompanied with the cherry wood box which is stamped with the information of the outfit that made the boxes for Fred Capio who initiated the build with RMK.

Fred told me he no longer had the list of buyers, so he could not tell me who had purchased the blade number I have.

I also had him sign the Randall Knife Society article about him and the knives to keep with my knife.

Wonder how many of these are: (1) Still with the original purchasers or their families, (2) in the hands of collectors, (3) floating around waiting to be appreciated, or finally (4) truly lost to never resurface.

Larry

Note: If I recall, RMK shipped the knives to Fred who put the wood box with them "if" the buyer wanted a box and delivered the order to the buyer. I think Fred said the boxes would have cost the BP agent $10 at the time, and not all of them wanted to buy one. RMK did not handle the boxes according to conversations I had with Fred. Actually, my knife did not come with a box when I bought it from another owner. When I mentioned this to Fred, he volunteered to check with his father whether they had a box left over, and he sent the box to me.
