Let's see Chief, when you are gator hunting or crawfishing what other options do you want/need that are not on this puppy? BTW Model 1 was the first Randall I got hooked on. Here's my 1-8 in Buckeye Burl. Bill J.

Bill I'm a big fan of the sawteeth/No sawteeth grind. The model 1 is the only fighter that has this option & doesn't change the blade design. The only problem I have with your knife is that it's not mine Absolutely Beautiful model 1!!!! In my opinion the limit of 5 options on the model 1 makes it the hardest to design & be happy with as I like to many of the options! My idea of a model 1 is: 1) stainless 2) sawteeth/no sawteeth grind 3) nickel silver hilt 4) forward curve 5) nickel silver collar / or metal spacers 6) nickel silver butt cap or plate 7) stag or custom wood 8) a choice of handle shape if in wood / finger grips if stag
See Ya, Chief

Roger that Chief! I was referring to your beautiful Mod 1. You said it had "almost all the options I like." I thought I saw all of them including ST/NST. I like ST a lot too and have some Mod 1's 14's and 16's with ST. I reckon you need the sawteeth more than I do to fend off them gators! Of course in TEXAS, a hombre needs the sawteeth to fend of them javelinas! Ha, Ha, I don't think these safe queens will get any blood on them, or will they? Later, Bill J.

Good choice, Steve. My first Randall was a 1-7 that I bought from AG Russell in 19??. You can guess the year, it was below $300 including shipping. After that, I was hooked. When a knife guy gets one of these in his hands, it's all over, "Mama hold the mortgage payment"! Bill J.

John, the "Buckeye" came from my friend Billy "Pup" Cochrane. You may know he runs Vintageknives.com. I have bought quite a few knives and RMKs from Billy and EVERYONE of them was better than advertised. He is a straight shootin' knife dealer and knows his Randalls. He gets very nice RMKs in from time to time and they don't last long, so you have to check his website often or call him. He will let you know about special incoming RMKs. I highly recommend him, here is the link to his website in case you haven't visited Billy down there in Mississippi. Picture "borrowed" from Billy's website. It says "Even in Hard Times We Are Still Blessed" http://vintageknives.com/
