Talk about a too big to whittle it down topic.....a "national park knife" stirs up a lot just thinking about all of them. Some parks so vast that others seem almost insignificant....Not. I love the Blue Ridge Parkway, grew up literally running up the Pinnacles of Dan in free time, listened to my grandpa's stories of "stealing acres of farm" to build it, watching WWI vet grandpa & WWII vet dad fight to keep from losing more land & worse....control of it. Headed south to the Carolina/TN Great Smokies to find my bride who has loved these peaks & skies & plants &animals & fish at least as much as me.
Pick this big a topic.....you'd best pick the biggest Randall or why leave the yard at all?

Duke, every time I go to the VA Hospital in Asheville I go out of my way to get on the parkway and other mountain roads just to take in the beauty of the Blue Ridge and the Smoky Mountains. Nearly everytime, a two and a half hour round trip becomes an all day drive!
