With the stretch of hot weather this week the lillies finally popped. They're a bit late this year but really healthy with all the rain this year. Speaking of which, I managed to get a few pics before the skies opened up on us this afternoon.

Thanks Pap. We managed to mix in alot of different potted plant colors this year. Comes out different every year. That side gets alot of hot afternoon sun so we have to be careful what we plant.

Anyone growing hollyhocks? One of my favorite plant/flowers but it takes 2 years to bloom. I had about 10 nice 1 year plants last year, trimmed them down per instructions to 3" above ground, and the elk ate them down to the ground. No sign of them this year, so assume they are history.

Bees are not a good thing for me Pap. We have enough bees, I don't need anymore thank you.

You're lucky to have honey bees, We mostly have yellowjackets and wasps. Wanna trade?

I never said we had honeybees. Bumblebees, Wasps, Hornets, Yellowjackets, yup we got plenty of them.
We had a nest years ago in the corner of the fountain underneath the siding where I captured over 1000 Yellowjackets using four of those long fly sticks. Every time I filled one up I'd replace it only to fill it again. I must have got them all that year but it was short lived only to see them again the following year in a different spot.

You need to get some of the Rescue brand traps. They make ones that you just add water, and some that are plastic and have refills. I use both and after 2 years, we have almost no wasps or yellowjackets. I also use 4 Rescue Big bags for house flies. The ones with the water need tending as the water evaporates. They work.
