We just got back from an epic trip to Orland, Maine to buy a sawmill. Highs in the 60s.

I pulled a travel trailer 4700 miles up there and back over 16 days with 2-100lb. Bloodhounds. They got us kicked out of 2 campgrounds but were a big hit in a couple others where there was a dog park and people could watch those big monsters play.

Enjoyed the cool weather, some LobsterS, clams, mussels, etc.

Got back late Sunday night at 10:00 pm. Pitch dark, Dead still.

But when I opened the truck door, It felt like I was stepping into a pressure cooker. The heat and humidity reminded me that I was back home.

Coach
Sounds like a great trip. Is this a band saw mill or circular?

Pretty slick Coach. Better get you a good Husqvarna chain saw to saw all that hardwood lumber. Very nice setup. Let us see some videos from your saw mill working. Be c.

You prefer the Husqvarna saw over the Stihl's, Pappy?

Yes, I do prefer Husqvarna over Sthil. Although it's probably a Chevy vs Ford thing, but having been around lots of logging operations, the Husky seems to out perform the Sthil and less maintenance issues over time.

I have a Stihl Farm Boos (made in Germany, not the US).

Still going strong and this was at the time when I was using ten chords of wood a winter.

One thing about wood heat. It heats you several times, cutting, splitting, stacking, hauling, storing and finally burnng. Whew!!

Chief and the Mississippi gang, along with anyone else in Ida's path. Hope you and your Family's are safe and no loss of property or lives. We're praying for you. Pic's are scary looking. Hope to hear from you when the power is back.

I heard from some of my "Buds" today! We spent 20 years there, my wife has family there and Lake Charles/DeRidder. Coastline is hammered, New Orleans power grid is toast, Baton Rouge hit hard, but my buddy's place was minor, Trees down in Mississippi by some friends! That leaves a lot of places with no details! All I know for sure is NuAwlins Metro... Hammered worse than Katrina from WIND!!!!

Holy Macaroni!

DFW hit 100F (or higher) today, at 5:30p they were still heat-soaking at 99F.

We hit 99.5F here in Baja Oklahoma (per the neighbor's weather station).

Our forecasted high tomorrow is twenty degrees cooler at 79F.

Our forecasted low for Thursday morning is under 50F.

When the morning temps are around 50F, I can usually open the windows at bedtime and let the house air out overnight.

I can't wait.
