OMG Coach, 85 high, 49 low here. I couldn't survive in that heat. I never hated cold weather, figured I could always just layer up. Heat like you have and me just never mixed. Hope you have a pool but that's probably 98.6.

109-110F for us (DFW) expected tomorrow. The record is 107 from 2012.

We broke the record today, too.

I spent the morning trying to hammer a pin out of the bucket cylinder of my backhoe. I was in the shade and there was a breeze but it still got hot.

My wife came out about 11:00 and said: “That’s enough! You get yourself out of this heat and into the house!” It had already got to 100.

I obliged her, came in, got cleaned up, and went to town.

I’ll be back out there about six in the morning. After about 10-11, I’ll be back in.

Almost every morning starts with very high humidity then drops when the fog burns off. Luckily we're in a pattern of cooler weather. Worst heat of the day is 5PM just when I would love to grill my supper.
My driveway is hotter than the grill.

I guess big heat means big storms. I went into South Georgia yesterday with a trailer to pick up some pecan to get sawed into lumber and the drive back was solid thunderstorms with trees and power lines down and minimal visibility for almost the entire drive back. Worst weather I think I've ever driven through. Two hours to get up there and three and a half to get home. Supposed to be much of the same today so I think I'll wait for another weekend to get the next load. ;-)

111 for the 4th day and it is just 2:30.

The temp doesn’t usually peak around here until around 4:00 or so.

Coach,

I'm not a Farmers Almanac reader although folks around here follow it closely with all the dairy we have nearby. Just wondering if they predicted it correctly?

Warren,

I haven’t read it in several years so I don’t know. It would be interesting if they did.

Well it seems like we get two seasons now. Summer to Winter, and no Spring to Summer the following season. Fall is hot, dry or wet and BAMB Winter is here. No Spring at all last few years. My gauge is the flowers. They're all confused, so am I.
