Of course. Bradshaw almost pledged our fraternity but couldn't get past having his butt paddled while being a pledge. His brother Gary was friends with a number of our frat rat members, Kappa Sigma. Robertson was offered a couple of NFL positions but turned them down to hunt and fish. I have Bradshaw's autograph in my 1968 Louisiana Tech Annual in a picture of both him and Phil. Didn't get Phil's.

Yes, I did. Phil was good but Bradshaw was better. Bradshaw was just average until the summer of 67 when Quarterback Coach Mickey Slaughter took Bradshaw to his cattle ranch. Bradshaw went from 180 to 220 and Slaughter made him throw while on his knees at a tire from long distances. If you watch Bradshaw throwing, he doesn't take a step like most others do. Anyway, after that summer, Bradshaw was a whole different QB, and so fun to watch. Little known is Louisiana Tech played Pensacola Navy and Roger Staubach in 68. Thrn played against him again later on. Bradshaw and Karl Malone put Louisiana Tech on the map.

This song “tells it like it is” right now in Texas.

Like the picture on the album cover.
Where in Texas are the green fields with the mountains?

Well, Let's see.

It could have been somewhere around the sources of the Rio Grande or Arkansas Rivers.

It could have been Santa Fe, Red River, Eagle's Nest, Taos, or Cimmaron.

It also could have been Durango, Silverton, or Ouray.

It even could have been Casper or Laramie.

All of these places were originally in the Republic of Texas.

But I get your point. The album cover doesn't really go with the song!

I get your point!
I'll vote for the headwaters of the Arkansas River.
I used to have a little piece of paradise along the headwaters near Salida, CO, and loved fishing it.
My first thought was the Grand Tetons, but it doesn't match the skyline there.

Well, I can promise you that the album cover picture is not Kopperl, Texas (the town in the song).

Kopperl is not exactly what you would call a picturesque place!

I thought the pic might have been in the Red River, Taos, Eagles Nest area.
