I think that Jack came through Duck Creek Elementary School a long time before Common Core was ever thought of.

My Bride, who taught Elementary School for 20 years before she became a Counselor, said he must have had a helluva phonics teacher!

He will probably live to be 100, and you probably would wipe your feet on the way out of his house instead of going in. Lol.

A friend of mine was told by his wife to hurry and go to Costco and buy some toilet paper. When he got there, they were all out, so he bought ribeyes instead. A man needs priorities.

From Snopes (a very reliable source of information) grin

In December 1973, Johnny Carson made a joke during his opening monologue of The Tonight Show about an upcoming toilet paper shortage. While Carson was not the first to comment on the situation, the talk show host’s joke was blamed for causing a nationwide toilet paper shopping spree.

RIP Johnny

My wife has been experimenting with sourdough bread and I am enjoying the results as her test subject.
One of the trails she is following recommends using a dutch oven. So, out came the dutch oven, new condition, that I had put away years ago. There is a little rust around the edge of the lid and we googled how to remedy that. Everyone has a different method and some are in direct contradiction to others of what not to do.
Pappy, or some of the other experienced users of cast iron cookware, what is your advice to remove the rust so Z can go forward with more of her sourdough trials.
Thanks in advance!

If the rust isn't too bad, vinegar and elbow grease works well. After it's removed, if it hasn't been used in a while, put bottom and top in a 350 degree oven separated for 1 hour. Using hot gloves remove from the oven and with a brush, paint Crisco oil over the entire surface of top and bottom. I use newspapers on the counter for this chore. Then wipe off excess with a paper towel, and place the bottom upside down in the oven and the top right side up. Cook at 350 for 2 hours and then turn off the oven and let cool in the oven, about 8 hours. Now ready for duty.

Yep Pappy just like greasing a cast iron skillet.
Try rosemary in your sourdough also.
