there is a new breed of hand made carbon steel out there today...these are somewhat nicer than what I've cooked with in the past....the new one's are much nicer...however being hand made, they are much more expensive!!!
Pappy, they do perform VERY similar to cast iron, however, as I'm sure you know...they lack the "brutality" that cast iron provides...BUT....cast has it's deficiencies as well...they all have their place...
the final product....I won 2nd place at the local chili cookoff a few years ago with this recipe...it's the easiest recipe that I ever submitted....isn't that the way it works??

Pap,
Bob Iliff owned Bob's Gun Shop on Wall Street in Norwalk. He later sold the shop and started working at Wilson's Hardware.

For those of you wondering about this "conversation",Pappy lived in the town where I later was a police officer/Sergeant.

He left the area before I arrived.

I probably would have put him in the slam for sure!!!!!

No doubt Wayne! You would have ruined a number of beer busts, for sure. Lol.

Pappy,
No doubt you were one of the many that enjoyed the reservoir off of Old Huckleberry Rd.

Besides the McAllister/McNally murder there that you knew about, there were 6 homicides over the next 40 years in the area there.

OK enough of me getting off thread. Lets hear some more about cooking.
