Youngest child opened the garage door this morning semi-early and left it open. When I went to close it a couple of hours later, she no work.

After my morning meetings with work, went out and fiddled with it. Turned out that I needed to sweep a snow drift off of the optical safety sensor.

Gotta say, that's a new one for me.

Man I really feel for you guys and girls in TX., Y'all are getting hammered. I hope that those without power have some other way to heat but probably not. Stay safe. If you have any Brass Monkeys it's time to bring them it.

Record cold for Feb 14th yesterday.
TV News was showing about 20 Trailer Homes in a community that the water pipes froze.
The maintenance man came out, looked, and said he could not fix the pipes until it warmed up and he went home.
The park manager answered the phone and said she was working on it and hung up.
The News crew wrapped up their filming and left.
Overnight 5 trailers caught fire, 4 burned totally, one damaged.
Hmmm

We have here in Southaven, MS 5+" snow with a temperature of 11 degrees and a wind chill of -12 degrees. Some records to be broken for this time of the year. And more to come Wednesday.

AG's wind turbines froze up...leaving people without power!

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article...nter-storm.html

Lots of photos in the above article, and a neat weather app that can the manipulated world-wide to zoom in on current conditions in any location.

Something the the snowed in folks to play with...if they have power.

This link is from our Boise,Idaho CBS weatherman that is the best I've seen in many years, and he predicts the next few days in Texas and the southern states.

We received 3/8" of freezing rain last Tuesday that is still on the ground and trees.
On top of that yesterday we received about an inch of snow.
Today it was a 1/4"of rain to another 3/8" freezing rain to 4" of sleet.
Now its snowing.

For DFW, Feb 15th, the high temp was lower than the record low.

For Baja Oklahoma (official recording station: Sherman TX), the low tonight (Tuesday morning, Feb16) at -4F is expected to match or beat the all-time measured low *ever* at this location.

I have two faucets running at a steady drizzle, both of which have piping on "external" walls (one is shared with a garage, so not really external but .. yeah).

I have a space heater pointed at my cases of imported beer stacked in a nook in the garage to keep them from freezing. The goodies in the garage fridge are likely to be OK but "eh" if they freeze up a bit overnight.
