Our place in Hilton Head was fine. We apparently never lost power. Just some leaves and a mess. There was a report in the local paper that a gator got misplaced and was on the major 278 Hwy. About 80 trees are down on the Island.

We are having a hot spell down here in South Carolina, 90's all week. Ready for fall weather, Wally's birthday, our 25th Anniversary, my birthday and Thanksgiving!! My favorite time of the year!

Gorgeous weather here but we could use some rain; not enough this morning.
Perfect temps day and night. Open the windows and sleep like a baby. We're good until mid October and the heating season starts.

Had the plumber come over the other day and give the furnace/boiler the annual check up.

Nice to get things done now and not at 3:00 AM during a blizzard.

Now it seems that we have winter/cold weather all the way into late May/early June.

Also got the generator serviced as well.

Dang Wayne! .....always something to try & not be behind on!!
Drought here, Warren. Really bad here & getting worse pretty rapidly. Farmers in 50% (at least) of VA feeling major impact, after already hammered by the damn tariffs, Almost all feeding this years hay/forage to livestock/cattle as pastures are brown, crunchy & dead. Or selling stock on a down market and really feeling more hopeless about losing several generations family farms.
Easy to tell with farmers because they talk less even at the mills & feed stores.....because they're running outa answers.
And I wish I was exaggerating.
Farmers are the worlds worst gambling addicts.

Duke is right. It is so dry that if we don't get some rain soon we won't have any fall color and they may close black powder season as they have done in the distant past. We have a month before that starts. Bow season is just around the corner.
