It's blue maple burl. I just got off the phone with Brother Billy and got his white balance reset but he, like me, did an update on his computer to Windows 10...from 7 and he's got a ways to go to get all of his settings back on this planet but that's a fine piece of lumber! Here's some interesting wood. I'm not huge on collecting big knives. Don't get me wrong. I have a few but nothing like Tom. This is a favorite of mine. A Thorp with nickel silver hilt, collar and cap...and stabilized "Green Box Elder". It came out nice, I think. Stay sharp, Capt. Chris

While many of our forum members don't know, you have one of the premier Randall and Behring knife collections around. Very impressive and I have seen some, but not all, along with meeting and knowing Peter as a friend as well. Not many like him out there.
