Doug,
You could just turn the knife over... the bottom of a "reduced" is flat, squared.

So that's why the top edge of the blade is sharpened!

Hi, I ordered a 12-8 bear bowie. I wanted to know if the RMK green micarta color looks like olive color. Also if the surface of the handle looks grainy.

Also I ordered the knife with the coolie butt cap, not what I expected. Is there spacers between the coolie buttcap and the handle??? I know I can change my order one time...What's the fee for a change??? Thank you Patrick

So many questions...O.K.; The green micarta used on Bowies is green "canvas" so it has the Grainy look you are speaking about...Yes!
The coolie cap has thin spacer between the micarta and the butt cap...Yes!
The Randall shop charges (I think) $35.00 for an order change...Yes!
Does that cover it? If I forgot something just pipe back in!
Hope this helps.
Best, Capt. Chris

P.S.: Oh yeah: The green canvas does indeed have an "olive" coloring. (Seen here on a pair of "Stanaback's") Your finished handle color and "grain" will resemble these...CCS

Can a Cattleman's be done with slab sides, grips and thong?

Thanks,

Thong?...Yes!
Grips?...No!
Only 1/4: stock knives and larger (#12 "Heavy") can have finger grips installed. This means the Cattleman is not eligible for FG's, as it is 3/16" stock. Sorry.
Best, Capt. Chris

Thanks Capt. Gave my catalog to a friend (waiting for a new one) and couldn't remember/wasn't sure.
