OK Crew,
I am afraid this winning vote will cause a drop-off in participation but "C" wins. The totals, by my adding, were:
A) 3 votes
B) 9 votes
C) 12 votes
If one vote, one way or another, had changed the winner could have been a totally different one. At any rate, we're building a long knife.
Now...Which one and how long? Let's hear your choices and arguments for and against them.
Thanks, Capt. Chris
PS: Now that the vote's completed, "B" would have been the clear choice for The 'Ol Captain...

If I'm "bugging out" into a possible survival situation ...

model 14!

And I usually carry a 6" or less on most of my trips,
but this would not be a usual trip.
cool

Tony

My choice would be model 14 ST or STNST grind.Already packed up with my long gun and ammo for it and my hand gun.As I would already
have a handgun and knife on my person.

Mod. 14 would be my choice. I also have a 14 on hand that would be perfect for a bug-out. BP handle, brown Micarta, SS, Mod. C sheath.

My first reaction would be my model 18 , although my newly aquired non-catalog Fiteman's special is a pocket-size Hercules no doubts !

I think an 18 makes the most sense in this build, but I’m not sure the available options would make for a memorable one. Might that be also be true for the 14? I’ve seen the 12-9 with a 14 grind suggested here. That gets my vote.

Some fun options in "big knife" world:
* MDL16 diver, NS2, ST
* MDL12-9 with 14grind
* 8" Sasquatch (likely outside the reach of this build)
* MDL5-7 (or 5-8), NS2, NSB, ST, leather, commando handle shape

I would say #1 or #5, if for no other reason at least they can be optioned out. #14 we are gonna end up building the same old #14 we see every day. Not saying its unfuctional, just saying it's been done....
