Some years before he moved to Montana, I was talking to Ken Hackathorn about his traveling to do gun instruction.

He told me how on one trip when he arrived at the airport with his guns, and TSA was inspecting them, one agent raised objection to the guns, but another agent said "No, he has them cased and they are OK to go." At which point the first lady agent said, "Yes, but they are black!"

Any gun could be called an "assault" weapon since they could be used to assault, and being so labeled could perhaps be made to fall within a "prohibited" category.

I don't think the public thinks enough about it, actually; it's mostly "emotions."

I really didn't mean to be critical. Just thought it warranted saying.

All the best, Gary

Gary,
You're right, and it's on me for straying off topic...I opened up the dialog to comment.

If I had to pick just one maybe the .308. I tend to gravitate towards the older standards and U.S. military rounds. 30-30, 9 para, .45 ACP, 5.56, 7,62x51 and I have a Browning A-Bolt II in 7mm Rem Mag for the really reachin out stuff. Have yet to go past 300 with it yet but I will one day. Other calibers also but those are my go too’s.
