Sounds like everyone had a great time.
Well we enjoy the day after at every holiday boiling a meaty bone and turning it into dinners for everyone. Our pleasure.

Family tradition my mother picked up somewhere in her extensive travels.
Black eyed peas first meal on New Year's morning to bring a year of good luck.
We will be crossing Texas from Amarillo to Shreveport, LA on New Year's day on the way to a month's rental in the Florida Keys.
We will have to get up early for those black eyed peas!
Happy New Years and good fortune throughout the year!

Black-eyed peas on new years day is an old Texas tradition. We always put a dime in the pot. Whoever found the dime was assured of good luck all year, especially if you had dental insurance.

tomthbomb,
A little off thread here but glad to see that the Church incident last Sunday was ended quickly by a former reserve deputy and firearms instructor.

Good for your Governor to step up to the plate and praise him and also support your recently enacted law allowing carry in Church.

Now back to the thread, I hope everyone has some nice meals planned in celebration (safely) for the New Year's festivities.

Wayne

Shots of my Mom's recipe for meatloaf using my 50/50 venison and beef burger @20% beef fat. Also a shot of our Heartland stove, propane burners, electric convection oven combo.
