I remember the "Bowles" knife as having a cattle skull or something like that. It was a "tip" of some type for a handle and a "KILLER" sheath! It was the best...pure and simple!
Best, Capt. Chris

Skip-

I think you mean this one. Rick used a walrus tip for the handle and David Perdue did the engraving and gold inlay. I think the skull which Rick scrimshawed on it is a steer. When I had it the scrimshaw was unsigned. It's changed hands a few times since I owned it and I think that at some point it was returned to Rick to be signed. Personally, I liked the uniqueness of an unsigned Bowles scrimshaw, but....different strokes for different folks I guess.

Regards,
Doug

That's it Doug. Still my favorite of all you have shown! Greg positively out-did himself also!!
Thanks, Capt. Chris

New #12 - 8" Bear Bowie just in, can you believe ironwood, ss, brass fch, brass and black spacers, and #22 style handle with brass crows beak, wrist thong and black left-hand sheath.
Another terrific knife from the guys at the shop.

Peter

Reminds me of a "bear" build we did here on the RKS forums a ways back (short ways)...except I think it was in something like California Buckeye Burl?? Great combo!!
Best, Capt. Chris

Everybody,
Here are some pictures of my Model#12,9-inch Sportsman's Bowie. I relly like the stag on this one and had to have it. This is my first #12 and will not be the last. These things are built like tanks.
