Wayne..
I spent some of my time as a youth, at the "gun club" pulling, and pasting targets...I was there mainly for retired Colonel Alfred F Green, a definite "hard ball" shooter!!
That's as far as it goes for me and the .45's...other than just shooting them...that man was a shooter!!

Rocky,
Always nice to mentored by a dyed in the wool hardball shooter.

You learn so much that way in comparison to book learning.

I think it was Mark Twain that once said that he never let schooling interfere with his education.

Dang interesting Pappy. I learned that, statistically, I’d do just as well packing my Ruger 22 as my S&W 44 Mag as my Glock 10mm. Who’da thunk it?
BUT, as we all know, what really matters is shot placement. AND, just pack something!
Great read. Thanks for posting.

An old Idaho rancher told me, if possible, when they stand up, grizzlies generally do, shoot at their throat, instant kill. Every bear I've shot in the throat, has dropped in it's tracks.

Pappy: I got some chills reading some of those.

I feel sorry for the one's traumatized and killed by those attacks.

Really informative article.Thanks for posting!

Now i gotta go watch "The Revenant" again.

That advice is good for all two-legged buggers Pappy.

I have an interesting book 4 Seconds Until Impact

Tells of all sorts of encounters of the worst kind with all types of critters.

Many bear attacks but huge amount of coyote attacks and cougars too.

The author reccomends packing heat but also gives high praise to bear spray.

My area has had MANY coyote attacks so I always pack heat.

Two legged critters are more prevalent in my area.
