That's pretty nice. I see that you tagged your harvest right away which is required but some folks seem to forget.

Nice you harvested some doe. A lot of folks look for the big antlers but I have yet to eat any antlers.

Maybe Pappy knows how to cook them up????? Looks like you would get every feet per second out of that long bbl

Wayne

Factory loads or handloads????

I keep tenderloins and backstraps for rare steaks on the grill, and burger the rest with 30% beef fat. I sometimes pound the backstrap steaks and chicken fry them.

Yes we try to take twice as many doe as we do bucks to keep population in check. Factory loads. Barnes solid copper hollow points. 100% weight retention.

Pappy,
What?? No antler stew??

Nate Dogg

In my state,if you take a doe to the weigh station you get another tag until you come in with a buck then that is it.

Good to keep the population in check.

Our first tag is good for buck or doe and can get up to 5 more doe after the buck tag.

Nate-dogg,
That is very good. I hope you always keep the freezer filled.

I juat got back in from going to my old PD to do my annual qualification for my national carry permit.
I was so scared, not really,I designed the course!!!

Now I am in a bit of a quandry, maybe the folks on this forum can help.

I used my Glock 43 to qualify,no sweat 100% (been doing that since ;68) but now for Church security every Sunday I use my Charter Snubbies. A Three inch in my "bible Bag" and a 2 inch on my ankle.

But I am now looking at my G-43. I use the three inch snubby as my trail gun while squirrel hunting, not for squirrels,of course, butr in case an ever present coyote shows up.

Any advice/opinions??? Pappy,I know you have something to
say!! (hoping?)

Wayne

Get the G43-X, it comes with better sights, better trigger and slightly longer slide than a regular 43. I have a regular 43 , but I hopped it up. The X pretty much comes good to go. Of course when I'm in the woods or hunting, I pack my G-20SF in 10mm, in a chest holster with extra mag.

Pappy,
If I am not mistaken, the G-20 has a 15 round magazine???

Aught to take care of most any problem in your neck of the woods.

The 3 inch Charter snubby in 38 spl pretty much is up to task for anything that may crop up here.

The chest rig,is it a Diamond -D?? I have one for my Ruger Alaskan.

Yes the 20 has a 15 round mag, so 15+1 with one in the chamber. And yes, a Diamond D Guide Chest holster.

Here's a nice chest holster rig from my leather artist friend Tom Able. I had already bought my Diamond D before I met Tom, otherwise, I would have had him make me one.
