I like to butcher the whole chicken and cut out the pully bone as a separate piece. Do you?

I like to get rotisserie chickens from Sam’s or Costco, de-bone ‘em, and freeze the meat in a vacuum bag.

Then, come home from school, get the taters, carrots, onions, celery, etc boiling. Then, when they get done, dump in the chicken and rotel and bring to a low simmer.

By then, the cornbread is done and it’s time to “go to town” on it!

Pretty quick way to have something pretty good for supper after a long day!

my grandmother had a cook that when frying chicken would ALWAYS cut out the pully bone just for me!!! loved it!!

My sweet mother, a teacher, used to come home from school, change her high heels to house shoes, put on an apron, cut up a chicken or pound a round steak, and fry it up for supper.

The pully bone was for my Dad.

He would save the bone and let one of us kids have a chance to "make a wish" with it.

Pappy....I'm going to give your spatchcock chicken a try!!!
bought it on line from Amos Miller Farms.....seems they ran into a bit of trouble with the USDA(go figure) seems the USDA didn't like the way they processed as well as them selling their stuff without their(USDA) approval.....well....me, being me....I had to give um a try!! The chicken looks great!!! I also got some butter a very creamy yellow looking(more so than store brands)....just wonderful!!
He now gets around this now, is by offering a "membership" to his farm, and products....you should look um up!!
I love folks that disobey the government powers!!!

Beef ribs on the smoker!



Costco in McKinney had beef ribs available on Saturday. Wife and I haven't had beef ribs in a mighty long time, so we bought a rack.
