We had a warm day up here in Saskatchewan. It warmed up to -14C today. It was a great day for taking a walk with my wonderful wife and my Nova Scotia Duck Toller and my Small Munsterlander puppy..

Tonight, we go back into the deep freeze.

Freezing drizzle and rain this morning. Before I went out,I first spread out plain sand so I would not test out the gravity.

Everything was a sheet of ice. May warm up a bit with the possibility of some snow on Friday.

My wife went to work at 7AM this morning. It was -50C. All I know is at 8:15 AM, my Small Munster took a crap in the backyard, and by the time I got the shovel to pick it up, it was all but frozen.

We had 9.9" of snow in less than 9 hours. most of the roads are just now passable. some people have been stoped off hours. As soon as they get a road open there's an other wreck shutting it down again.

True to form...the predicted 1-2 inches of aggw (al gore global warming) turned out to be closer to a foot.

So in a while I will be out doing the snow relocate thing. You don't remove it,just take it from one place and put it in another.

We've been under freezing since 5p yesterday.

Honestly this is a normal January for here -- random nighttime freezing temps.

Spark,
An inch an hour snow is basically like a flurry here.

Back in '77 we had a storm that dropped 3 inches an hour for 12 hours. And that was on top of a two footer we received two weeks earlier.

Wayne—

That blizzard affected the whole central US and the easter seaboard.

A few years back while visiting Maine I talked to a man who during that weather had the job of taking a boat from there down to Palm Beach. He said they had to break ice for him down much of the Intracoastal Waterway, and when he got to Palm Beach they even had snow.

Then…a few years ago during a “cold snap” in Florida, a lady got on Palm Beach TV displaying a snowball she had saved from that storm.

Global warming or what?
