I measured the hardness of my #10-5 in 4 points - two points about the hilt and two points on the tip of the blade.
Hardness was 53-54 Rockwell. This is what need for utilitarian knife

The tip I have is too thick.
Leads to tip too thick. Must be a convex lens.
I came to the conclusion that my knife was broken off and reground previous owner something like this:

These are hand made knives, and not always the same. I'm not the pro here, BUT...I think that your knife looks fine. Maybe it's a bit older than the ones that you are looking at. Grinds tend to change from time to time.

What Rocky told you is correct.I have a fair share of 10-5'sand 10-3's-Not fond of 10-7.There is a slight difference in them all.
Just received from the Captain last week 2 more 10-5 and 10-3.
You have a nice 10-5.
