Kids & Grandkids are coming Saturday for ribs.

So this morning, my Bride and I caught 7 nice crappie out of one of my ponds, cleaned them, and had them for Supper.

My Bride did the cooking while I cut the grass.

Along with the fish, we had fresh green beans, fried taters, fried yaller skwash, cut up homegrown tomaters, and some cut up kantylop!

After Supper, I told her that it was so good that I'd decided that she could stay with me a little longer.

She told me that since I had worked so hard to cut the grass, I could stay little longer too.

Coach, That is some good eating right there. I love me some crappie!! I love it when Wally comes in with them. He cleans them and straight to the frying pan they go. I like for them to be a big as your hands.

Coach,

Venomous snakes are few and far between here but from what I understand,cottonmouths/water moccasins tend to be more aggressive than buzzworms (rattlers).

Having been bit back in 2015 (GA),I will say that I have a healthy respect for buzzworms.

We celebrated the 4th on Saturday the 6th.

The kids & grandkids had requested a fish fry but I am out of the required amount of fish at the moment.

We fixed what we could and I don't think they left disappointed.

Here is some of what we had:

Country style pork ribs, grilled chicken breasts, 3 different kinds of sausage, baked beans, tater salad, roasted corn, apple pie, and homemade ice cream.

And, for dessert,...

It was 100 degrees so the homemade ice cream really hit the spot!!!

You definitely do it right Coach. Cook for 5 or 50 about same to me. Just a little more effort and $. Fun either way and a great treat for your family.
