The gentleman I purchased it from said he had it for about seven years and that he believed it to be a mid-90's model. I am not sure if that is correct. I just ordered a Model 1-8 with black micarta, Nickel Steel Collar and Butt Cap, Sawteeth, Engraving and a Black Sheath. What I would really like to get is a Vietnam Era Model 1-8 but I have no idea where to begin looking.
