Rocky--

To avoid losing springing springs, I placed pillows so the spring would hit it if it pounced away.

I had that happen on my Glock with the little spring that holds tension on the slide keeper. I was lucky and found mine because I heard it hit into one of my open Griswold Dutch ovens. Very lucky!

oh yeah....I heard it hit 2 things....before it vanished!! "ding ding" this is the little black rubber "swivel" as they call it....rests on the gun frame, and the end of the spring rests inside it....black, like all the crap in my shop floor....
no matter...Midway already emailed me that "my order has shipped"
I think that I'll redo it in the shower, with something over the drain!!

Rocky, I did get a chuckle out your dilemma, but who among us hasn't had springs and things take off and disappear into the abyss never to be seen again, I sure have, it can be maddening. Once it's all done, I think the peace of mind that the lock will not set under recoil will be worth it. Have fun in the shower.

Rocky--

Is it worth the trouble to do this?

I wonder how common it is for that internal lock to slip and lock up?

I'd never heard of all that...BUT...I can join in with the best of them, AND...it does make since....if that pistol got "Locked"....it would difficult to fix...anyway...it was fun...I don't know about ya'll, however I get few reasons to "get into" a gun...brings back needed info...

Rocky that is a sweet little Ruger. I have a Ruger 22 auto from 1952 that has never been fired could use some cleaning up but I figured if it hasn't rusted yet why bother. I found this in an abounded house many years ago. Sorry for the poor pics.
