Last night we did not get much,at least in my area, maybe about 5 inches at most.

This storm had all the weather people in a tizzy, seems that they could not find their butt with both hands.

So a little clean and get ready for the next one, whenever that decides to hit.

8" heavy, wet snow. Perfect for predator & sweet young hen calls to coyotes at daylight from my 3rd story screen porch......score is 2-0 us. My 7 year old hunting buddy hates 'em and always smells 'em before I see crap. We've spent enough time together looking for coyotes, groundhogs & turkeys that I can tell (sometimes) by her breathing, nose twitches, body quivers. Best girlfriend I ever had (in some ways).

Duke,

We travelled 81 south to NC yesterday. I waved at the Blacksburg sign. We make this trip every year and first time I recall snow this far south.

Duke,
Super nice doggy. Dogs can see game long before you can.

My dog used to spot stuff long before I even knew it was there.

Plan to give me a call & meet for a meal and a cold one next/anytime passing through Warren.....seriously. Immediately off that exit is an outstanding B-B-Q & Blues place......."Fatback Soul Shack." At times I'm even on the little stage in the weekly blues jam......heckuva' good time.
And.....thanks Wayne. I've been lucky enough to have had a good canine friend of some mixed breed or another when in the outdoors most of my life. This one will lay motionless against my hip, everything except eyes & snout under her camo & listen to me call turkeys; nose vacuuming the air, quivering a little when they answer & moreso as they begin to move in. She'll spring at the shot & pin to the ground anything flopping. Best team I ever had was 20+ years ago.....eyes, height & speed of a greyhound....nose & tracking of a black lab. Really miss those hunting partners.
Thanks again friends. I'll stop now.

Duke,

Return trip won't be until early May. I'll be flying in between up and back here before we drive home. I'll give you a call on the return. Thank you.

Sunny and mid 60s yesterday.
Rain started last night turned to freezing rain to sleet to about 4" of snow today.
My daughters car broke down about 40 mi away. Guess who's been outside all day.

That's always fun to take care of a loved one in trouble, especially in the rain. God bless.
