SAI (Springfield Armory) has come out with a BHP, it would seem.

Forged carbon steel frame and slide, cold hammer forged barrel.

Apparently some of the upgrades include better safety lever, longer feed ramp (wider range of ammo), and removal of the "empty magwell block."

MSRP in the $700 ballpark.

Another excellent design by John M.Browning.

I understand that he had passed away before the design was completed???

In the photo it shows the piece cocked and locked. Just the way John M. Browning designed it to be carried.

With it cocked and locked, there are 5 safeties in place.

The 1911 platform has been around well over a century and cannot be improved upon.

In '68, a contractor that was doing house renovation came to police HQ with a 1911 he found in an attic. It was cocked and locked with a full magazine. Documents showed that it had been stored that way since about 1920.

I took the old ammo out, basically lubed the gun,put fresh ammo in and it functioned perfectly.

Springs had been compressed for about 50 yrs.

Wayne

The Bul functioned flawlessly. Granted we only shot 150 rounds through it, but it didn’t hiccup once.

During my LEO career I was allowed to carry 1911’s when I was assigned to investigations and I carried them cocked & locked.

Mick,
Smart way to pack the 1911. That way you have 8 rounds ready to go.

Mike,
Beautiful Herstal HP!!! Pristine condition. Does it have a shoulder stock attachment??

Mike,
I know that Lugers,at least some, had the shoulder stock that was also the holster.

Does the HP have any such stock/holster?? I have never heard of one.
