I picked up a couple of pocket pistols recently. The first one is a “No-lock” S&W 442 “Airweight”:

The second one is an older S&W 649. I had a blued one of these back when I was a rookie cop in the 70’s, but sold it off for something I desperately needed, although I don’t remember what!

nice!!
one for each front pocket!!
I've never sold/traded a gun and felt good about it a few years later...I say a few years, as many times we have to do what we have to do...even if it doesn't make any since today!!

Mic214,

Super nice classics. I had heard tales of S&W locks locking up but do not know if it really had happened.

I prefer the non-lock models so you don't have the nagging thought about the thing locking up.....always at the worst time.

Wayne,
Locks did lock up.Mostly keys got lost.If I had a dollar for every
customer that came in the store asking me to unlock a S&W I'd be
well off.

Mick,
Beyond all doubts, the S&W 649 is my favorite 2" snubby! Carried one in my tackle box for decades. That and a Model #650.
Nice one you have there,
Capt. Chris

Thanks Capt.!

I was originally looking for the newer airweight Bodyguard, but failing to find one at a decent price, I grabbed the Model 442. Then, as what usually happens, I found the 649 on another forum, so I scooped it up.

I may pocket carry one and ankle carry the other as a “NY Reload”!

mic214,
That sounds like a good plan to me.

A snubby is one of those pieces that never wants to die.

I know at my department during qualifications, officers would use their "lots of shots" but at day's end, what goes with them....yep.a nice snubby.

I don't know of a fisherman down south that does NOT have a snubby in his tacklebox, pocket or vest.
