Eric, That handle material is the best take on ivory I have seen.I like it better than some actual ivory.It will be interesting to see how they age.
The black sheath's make those handles pop!
I'd like to see a pic or two when you get the wrist thongs.

cap, how is james marking his work so that sometime down the road they can't be sold as shop done, particularly now that the shop is apparently offering copper as an option on multiple models.

So far the hilt shaping and spacer arrangement/thickness is a huge giveaway.

To who? Guys that have been around the hobby for some time maybe. What about the newer guy? How many posts do you see from a guy asking if a knife is legit? All the time.

This isn't a new issue, and has been a problem for years. I have seen more than
a few fellows with a knife they thought came from Randall as they bought it only to learn it was altered. This is in no way a critique of the work, but it is an alteration of original production nonetheless.

James was putting a medallion or something on his, as the shop and he had an "understanding" that the knives would be identified in some fashion. I don't think Jim ever did anything.

Seen one guy drag around what looked like a Model 14 with a poorly done G10 "jade" handle asking if it was legit. That was a quick and easy answer -- "uh, no. not a chance."

As a new guy,that was one of the reasons for posting my knife here.
After reading a bunch of posts I knew if I bought a fake it would ring the alarm right away.
So even though i didn't ask.I had doubt and wanted confirmation.
I'm sure other new people have this same intention depending on where they got their knives from.
