Currently 9 degrees in Spartanburg, SC. Praying power stays on. Power is going out in different places across the county. I had to trap these 2 stray cats in the garage yesterday to be sure they stay warm.

Lori,
A toasty 8 here this morning but will warm up to the balmy teens by this afternoon.

Good to see that you are providing shelter for your furry friends.

If all the rain that we had the other day/night were snow,I would be up to my armpits in that aggw stuff (al goe global warming)

Looking at the weather nationwide,I think that the al gore global warming theory is pretty much out the butt.

Wayne we are at 19 now with a high of 30. They are doing rolling Blackouts, so it looks like it is a matter of "When", will the power go out!! I was going to do some Baking, but I am afraid to start anything.

Best money I ever spent was on the Generac whole house generator and 500 gallon propane tank.

Pappy, I just Told Wally this morning that I was going to see about having one of those put in next year. We have gas logs and a gas water heater. So we can stay warm. We have a generator also, but it would be nice to run the whole house and not have to do Nothing!

Yes,and it starts automatically after 6 seconds of lost power, then automatically switches back to regular power seamlessly. It does a maintenance exercise every other Wednesday at noon for 12 minutes. Having it also adds value to the house as well. My brother, who lives in Tampa, has a Briggs and Stratton with a 100 gallon propane tank. Kohler also makes one as well. The nice thing about propane, is should something happen to the natural supply, you still have power. A 500 gallon propane tank will run a typical home 24/7 for 30 days.
