Glad to hear everyone in the forum are ok. Yeah, it gets cold sometimes and we get some snow, but no tornadoes, no hurricanes, no cockroaches, no redbugs,no fire ants, few snakes(only garter snakes where I live),few ticks in May, few skeeters in May and June. The cold is worth it.

Mike I agree with you 100%. A bit of snow, is much more enjoyable than worrying about tornadoes or hurricanes. Having lived and worked in Asia for 6 years and endured numerous typhoons, winter isn’t that bad.

We had 50+ mph winds last night. Power was off for 3 hours but my Generac kicked in.

We also had high winds last night, and the day before, some of the gust were up in the high 30s, I had just cleaned up the limbs and sticks form the last one now I get to do in again. My Pear tree is starting to bloom and I am afraid that we will get a hard freeze and ruin them, it happened last year and I didn't get nearly as many pears as usual. The wild turkeys know it is spring. The pic of the two gobblers walking away from the back door are only about 10-12 feet away. I just took these from the bathroom window with a point and shoot. The others are from the kitchen. The gobblers are young.

That’s pretty cool!
I wish we had wild turkeys around here close.
There are some about 30 miles East of me, but none close by.
TP&W turned some loose close by about 10 years ago, but they didn’t make it but a year or so.

Great pictures Sidney! You oughta’ put out a jake decoy or two and call in a couple of big boys to kick his butt. Lotta’ fun just to watch. I can highly recommend Knight and Hale’s Fight’n Gobbler call....it’ll work great in combination with your favorite mouth call You can sound like a hot little spring girl with two boys fighting over her. I’ve had more than a couple long beards come either flying in across a creek/holler/fence &/or running, over 100 yards,, straight at me, to either (1) kick my butt or (2) watch a good fight. My daughter actually got a couple great videos of this when she hunted a few of her teenage years with me. The deal was that I “couldn’t kill anything.” She carried a 35mm camera and an 8mm video cam. I carried binocs and a small CC .357. Many outstanding movies, pics and memories and wouldn’t trade those years for anything. VA Spring Gobbler season starts Saturday April 10th. Youth weekend is April 3rd & 4th. Find you a 15 and under youth that needs educating.

When I lived in Island Park next to Yellowstone Park, the locals said that Island Park had 8 months of snowmobiling and 4 months of tough sledding.
