Tom,
That was well put.

Some of the North American Arms mini revolver models are ported.

I see no real reason for that.

Ports on the handguns and calibers that I’ve made the decisions to have MAG-na-port
(outstanding product) add their ports on, or TC barellels ordered with ports included have performed wonderfully for me for 25+ years. The 45-70, 44 Mags, and .309 JDJ are possible to shoot comfortably as MY “felt recoil” is so substantially reduced. I truly don’t care about muzzle blast to the sides at the range as I’ve always gone to the furthest shooting station anyway and quit going to any public range over 6 yrs. ago when the durn knuckleheads beside me fired a 30-30 round in the dirt 2 feet from my leg. I go only at dawn now….and I’ve tried. Worst stupid PTSD I still deal with, BUT who cares?
Anyway, the mag-na-ports I have do great at what they’re supposed to do

Nice T/C stuff. I have a Contender with a 14 inch 22 lr bull bbl.

From a rest, easily shoots 1/2 inch groups at 50 yds.

Nice set of weapons!

I'm like you. I don't like to shoot around ANYBODY else.

I have my own range out here on my place.

Coach,
If I am not mistaken, seems that Texas is a range!!! If you don't have one of your own, there is one close by.

My outdoor range is just 6 miles from my house. Trap, rifle, shotgun, handgun areas. Behind the moutain/backstop is 349 acres open for hunting. Probably the best kept secret in the state.

I have hunted there for 50+ years and only have seen 6 other hunters during that time.

About 4 years ago,a bowhunter harvested a 305 LB white tailed Buck there! Haul that out of the woods and it is uphill both ways!!

Wayne:

I have a place on my pond dam where I can take a folding table and set up. I have a target stand set up at 50 yards, 100 yards, 150 yards, and 200 yards.

All is shooting downhill.

I can also set up my skeet slinger from the top of the dam to shoot my shot guns.

When the weather gets below 100, I’ll take some pictures.

Hot Louisiana summers makes me think about the old timers without any electricity not to mention AC. The Dog Trot home design comes to mind. Interesting concept and it works.

All of the houses around here were “Dog Trot” type houses. Most have closed them up now since they have AC.

When I was a kid and used to stay with my Grandmother during the Summer, I would sleep in the Dog Trot. She got electricity during the 50s. She had an attic fan in the Dog Trot. She had doors on both ends of the Dog Trot.

At night, she would close one off and turn the the attic fan on. The attic fan would pull a hard breeze from under the huge Pecan trees just a few feet South of her house.

Even during the HOT Summertime, you would be reaching for a quilt during the night.

I did some hard sleeping in that Dog Trot listening to the katydids that were outside in those Pecan trees.

Those attic fans had some kind of power, for sure.
