Pappy,
Both are super nice rigs.

Seems that with the chest style rig,the piece is never in the way and you hardly know it is there.

I decided on my Church/security outfit. Glock 43 with two reloads in the Bible bag and the lightweight snubby in the ankle rig.
The 3 inch does nightstand duty and field gun duty.

Can't go wrong with that combo. I would suggest some upgrades from The Glock Store.

Pap,
So far,my G-43 right out of the box seems to be pretty good.

Beauty of the Glocks is that they are good to go right away.

I try to stay away from "upgrades" on any SD piece because if it is used in a SD situation,it may have some issues in trial.

That is why many PDs keep their weapons stock.

Going back a little but the hunting seasons rolling right along here. In the early black powder season and this Saturday is opening day for the high power firearms. Re: felt recoil…..I still really enjoy my TC handguns (& carbine) as well as the S&W 629 & Ruger 6gun…..calibers in 44Mag, 45-70, 309JDJ & 300Whisper. I’ve hunted with these from 10-34 years now BUT do not abuse my hands shooting’em for hours on the range. Once I know the zero is still good at 250 yards, so that anything under is good too, I’m good to go. It’s just so great carrying these on the slow “walk-stalk” hunts in these VA mountains. I still hope to recover a bullet some day but don’t expect to anymore as any shot that I take has always been
“thru-&-thru”….don’t do Texas heart shots.
I’ve always handloaded everything they shoot, so here’s a couple pics of the 45-70 and 309 for comparison. The 309 uses 444 Marlin brass and the 300 uses .221 Fireball. What fun!! Added one more pic of my nephew's recent muzzleloader kill on the farm. Not too shabby. The only shabbiness is my photography.

Nice buck!!!

Walking around (hunting) on ancestral land is a real treat this time of the year.

I will look over there and see where Papa and Uncle Walter’s old syrup mill used to be, the terraces where they farmed, the spot where my great grandpa supposedly killed a bear in the late 1800s, the spring where they first camped when they came to Texas in 1850, etc.

Good on you, Duke!

Duke,
Did I get that right....you're shooting pistols out to 250 yards??
I get the reloading...that's all I shoot hunting

Gosh! I thought that it was Elmer Keith who was the one who did that long range hunting with a handgun!!!

My longest shots were doing the National Match Course at 50 yards and that was all I could manage.
