No insult taken. Lodge was the only cast iron stuff available to me many years ago..

I have MANY Bucks and Randalls and find them both excellent.
I purchased my first Model 1 in Dec '64 used from another paratrooper rotating back to the states. It was with me in country for three years. Served me well.

I had known the late Chuck Buck for a number of years and am friends with CJ Buck.

My dog,Luvvy,was friends with Gary Randall's dogs for years.

Now as for Lodge and Griswold,I have no connection and I am not the superb cook like Pappy and Coach so I will just do my best with what I have and watch them make those superb meals!!!!!!

I don't have any Griswold cast iron stuff but Lodge Forge stuff.Agree on the model 10 7 inch blade, use it almost everyday

Cheesy Beer Bread, so quick and easy.
3 C AP flour
1 T baking powder
2 t salt
2 T sugar
1 T Granulated garlic
12 Oz beer
1 package shredded sharp cheddar
6 T butter
Preheat oven to 375. Heat a #9 Griswold skillet(or what have you) melt the butter. Make a hole in the flour and pour in the beer. It will foam up but keep stirring until all mixed. Pour into hot skillet with melted butter. Spread cheese evenly. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until cheese is browned.

I also added a chopped jalapeņo to the batter, sliced olives would be good too.

Haha, no but dated Patty Iliff for a while, one of the owner's daughters, and hung out with Alan Iliff, the oldest son. Their hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes was my favorite.

Wow Rocky, that's a bunch of onions! Steel skillets are great too, and get seasoned just like cast iron. Just think of them as a small flat top. Let us see your final product.
