Beautiful stag Jimmy. That is one hunk of steel there.

I have always been impressed with the BIG Knives from Randall.

It seems the same quality finish and attention to small details that you expect and find on the smaller blades exists with no drop-off on the BIG Models. From the blade grind through the hilt solder joint to the finesse of the handle.

Big or Small Randall Does It All !

Awesome Knife Jimmy

Thanks everybody for your comments. I will be looking for a 12-9, 14 grind in the near future to add some big boys to my collection.

I have a 12-11 on order with the shop from a year or so ago. Stag, N/S FCH, N/S butt plate. I'm looking forward to it very much.

As promised, I submit my "Sun Valley Patrol" for review.
What is funny is that I did not know what to do with this knife when sorting through my fathers collection. I figured it was some kind of custom screw up of a perfectly good Randall.....much to my suprise it turned out to be what it is.....
Did not know untill I listed it on the bay, and a nice fellow told me what it was.
At the time of listing, it kicked up a bit of rucus on the forum as to it's authentication...well, it is authentic per Perry.
I'm sending it the Greg to get a sheath, as none was found. Greg said the he could make a sheath somewhat typical as what would have been available at the time.

Hey Rocky,
For what it's worth that looks like old growth Brazilian Rosewood.

Rocky--

Very interesting knife. In the old days they had time to do unusual and customer-spec knives--is this part of a limited run or what? I suspect others would also like to know the background on it.

Thanks,
Larry

Rick,
You are right. I had not thought about it, however I checked Perry's write-up and there it was.
Larry,
You can find information about this knife in the Gaddis book. Page 213. It, as reorted in the book, was the start of the "Bear Bowie".
