I never got to watch Groucho Marx as a kid, too "adult" for my grandparents to let it appear on the television (70s and early 80s).
On the note of the old-school comedians, Red Skelton came through Manhattan KS in 1990 when I was in college and I managed to get tickets. He had a sign language interpreter on stage with him and some of the punchlines were her translated hand gestures. Good stuff at several levels.

Pap, My favorite "You Bet Your Life" show was when one woman said she had eight children. Groucho asked why she had eight children. She said because she loves her husband. Groucho said I love my cigar but occasionally I take it out of my mouth.
