Walker, Duke was a hell of a pheasant dog. He use to shake his head at my Dad or I if we missed one. Great memories indeed.

Hey Walker & Wayne:
I have felt that same pain myself and still do sometimes when I think about ol' Rusty, Isabella, Bonnie, Bear, Buster, Buddy, Lucious, Sally, & Mac.
But keep in mind that somewhere, there is a puppy dog that desperately needs somebody to love it. And I can honestly say that every one of mine have loved me back and I was glad to have had each one for the time I did.

Coach,
Where did your 442 mile trip take you? Actually I misread the odometer it was 642 miles. Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and back. When the hurricane moved Mulate’s to New Orleans we go mainly to Lafeyette and south for our Cajun fix. I love south Louisiana. I-49 is like a gift from God compared to the old hiways!

That is the way we went this time but I love to go South in Texas, pass by Dam B, Lake Sam Rayburn, or Toledo Bend, then down HWY 87 and cross over into Louisiana at Deweyville.
It takes longer but I used to coach down that way and I love that country.

We went to Poche’s in Breaux Bridge. It is an annual Summertime trip. We had both dogs so we ate crawfish etoufe, stuffed pork chops, and turnip greens out at the picnic tables. Then we went to Foti’s Fruit Stand and bought 4 bags of cut shoepeg corn and 4 bags of cut up okra. Then we stopped in Opelousas to buy 4 boxes of Billy’s Boudin. It was too late to stop in Natchitoches to get some meat pies at Lasyones so we will just have to go back sometime. Besides that, The Mariner in Natchitoches is a pretty good seafood restaurant. I don’t mind going across the Sabine River at all! http://www.poches.com/http://lasyones.com/https://billysboudin-com.3dcartstores.com/crm.asp?action=contactus

Coach,

Warren:
You never know.
I once drove all the way to a Orlando, Fl in one day. 1015 miles.
Another time, I drove to Ridley, WV in one day, about the same.
Another time, I drove to Minneapolis 950 miles.
Red River, NM 750, piece of cake!
