Beautiful knives everybody. I recall that the captain had a knife that was handled in stabilized pinecone, he also stated that RMK wouldn't use that material again. What makes these materials a pain to use?

The only "2" the shop did for me...that I can recall. Wally may have gotten one from me with a full sized nickel silver double hilt. The early Norwegian blue spruce pine cone was not "dried and stabilized" properly and would "take a set", hence the Itchnay from the shop. Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

Captain, there is another one. It was recently brought to Wally's attention from Rick Bowles. I can't remember what model it was. Maybe Wally will chime in. I will post a picture of our Pine Cone when I get home from work.
We (RMK) had to fill the holes in the Cob...5 TIMES, F-I-V-E TIMES...before it was able to form a handle shape...it turned our dropped dead gorgeous though, I must say!!
