I'll let the Capt answer that one.

Check out the "Knives of The Week Models 1-28" thread, click on "Model 14".

There's 30 pages of information and photos. Lots of great possibilities.

However, just cause you see something from the past, doesn't mean that it is Kosher (available) today.

Thanks Buck. Before I posted my question, I did take a look there at all of the 14s pictured but did not see any with a butt cap. However, many of the pictures are no longer available on the thread so there may have been some shown at some point in time.

I recently saw photos of two knives, an APFK & a Fireman; each had brass #14 style hilts. The APFK's hilt had holes in it as normally seen on a #18.

My questions:
1. Is this style hilt (with or without holes) still an option that can be ordered on knives other than #14, #15 & #18?
2. Can nickel silver be substituted for brass?
3. If the answer to questions #1 & #2 above is yes, what is the ordering shorthand, and what is the current cost?

Thanks.

Brass or NS...Yes to both. Request (for instance) brass double hilt (#14 style).
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

I saw a Model 15 "Camping" version that Lunde had posted in the Knife of the Week Model 15 thread. I am wondering if one more option is possible?

His #15 with Single Hilt (Nickel Silver with Squared Top), Thumb Notches, and White (Ivorite?) Micarta handle in Border Patrol shape.

To this list could I add the Bowie Clip Point?

I only counted "4" chargeable options so..."yes".
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

OK, thank you. It was almost too pretty to use, and I was not aware you could get other colors of micarta besides green and black.

White or whatever...shop-supplied or customer-supplied...it still only counts as one option.
