Cap or Scott, has the Randall shop considered making a stainless steel blade a non-chargeable option? I mean non-chargeable as it applies to the five option limit, not money wise. Where I live stainless is not "optional".

Great point Tom. I don't know if they have explored the possibility or not. Maybe we'll hear from Scott. I would imagine it could be a headache, as many knives are available "both" ways, some in stainless "only" and some in carbon "only". It's an interesting idea and a rather sneaky way of asking for more chargeable options. (Hah) Best, Capt. Chris

I agree, Stainless is not an option for me. Illinois is often very wet in the fall and winter when I love to get outside. Not having to worry about rust or staining is a huge maintenance worry off my back.
I feel 5 options is just the right amount for my users but adding a compass or maybe something else would be neat.
Many times I think that I would easily pay the extra money for the stainless option but that stainless option sometimes takes away a different option I would like/need on that specific knife. By the time you spec out a given knife for USER options you typically have to decide what to give up. I don't like to give up things that might help me down the road in the field. Examples would be Lanyard, thumb notches, SFG (due to my small hands), full tang, waxed sheath. So something has to go if you want stainless.

Thumb notches are standard on quite a few knives Tom. If, by full tang, you mean a full exposed tang it's not an option and the wrist thong is included on exposed tang model, i.e. #14,#15,#16,#17,Fireman, CC/FT, #28, etc. Thumb nocthes are also standard on the #16 and Fireman as well as the #28...
