Mint, everyone has their own idea of what that word means. Even with drop dead mint.

Drive a car you just bought 5 miles, no longer new. But still drop dead mint.

Warrantee isn't going to cover a "used" knife if it wasn't sold to the "original" owner...... Pretty Simple, buy from a dealer and shipped to you in 6 months.

There is a Major difference between an "Authorized Dealer" and everybody else, including myself.

Duke McCaa is another fine dealer in this side of the earth!

Drive a car 5 miles and the value drops..... I have not seen that be the case on Randalls.

Warranty is a consideration to some, for sure.

To each their own, as long as they are enjoying the hobby.

Getting back to the question that prompted the last few messages, I asked about ordering from the shop for a reason. Contrary to what some say here, ordering from a dealer isn't always the ideal situation. In the past, I have encountered "push-back" (not refusal) to order Triathletes from a dealer because he stated that he preferred to keep those slots open for the catalog (read: more expensive) knives.

1. The dealer is not a member of this forum, as far as I know.
2. The request made some sense as, at the time, I could get the knife just about as fast from ordering from the shop as I could from him.

I hesitate to share the above as I don't want it to appear that I am bashing a dealer. I'm not. I was just curious as to whether that situation still existed since I am considering purchasing a Tri.

Gary,

Several years ago I was told the EXACT same thing, when I inquired about ordering a Tri.

I don't see that scenario happening these days.

I "think" the dealers are limited to the number of Tri's and 10's they can order.....

To answer the question, no, the triathletes and tailors are no longer a quick order thru the shop, every model is at a 4 yr delay...

And at this time, I'm pretty sure any dealer would be more than willing to open a spot for either...
