You can definitely order a Clinton from him... he gets them on his site once every other month or so it seems, though they usually come in some sort of wood. If you order a new 1 though it comes in less then a year. Gary is cool, if you email him or call he will do everything he can to walk you through it. I have had great communication with him over the last year

James, yes that was me.

I had been looking for a Stanaback Special, and I liked the leather handle on that knife a great deal (I love the retro look and feel of stacked leather). I felt that the price was in a pretty reasonable range for one of the original 200 numbered Stanaback Special Type II knives.

Now all I have to do is find the matching number for a Capt. Chris' Type I dealer special (the type II number was under 100). I know, good luck with that.

And I've just really messed up my budget for the month by ordering a Buxton Fighter from their website. Don't worry honey...it's really an investment (at least in me maintaining my sanity if nothing else).

Thanks again for the information and words of wisdom for a new collector. And I know how it feels to miss the end of an ebay auction. I do it often enough myself.

Remember the 5 option limit does not apply to dealer specials, so you can configure them as you wish. I have had the dealers with large and small specials configured the same.

When you order a model 14 or 15 and request a model 18 hilt that has the holes in it, is that a chargeable option? And what would the cost be if it is chargeable? oldguy

Charges are the same as if you were to request a forward curved double hilt, i.e. $25.00.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris

On the 27 Minis, can you request options, such as WT, thumb notches, NHS?
