Dinner tonight; hamburger steak, onion gravy, rice, and salad, cooked on my Griswold full writing Victor #9 skillet. A Southern meal, for sure.

Matthias,
Sure looks good! And a nice set to carve with too. Any details on the meats to share?

My most requested BBQ bean recipe:

Pap's BBQ Dutch oven Beans.
1 lb burger
1 package pork Kilbasa sliced
6 slices chopped bacon
1 yellow onion chopped
4 garlic cloves smashed/ chopped
1 T Worcester sauce
1 T liquid smoke
1/4 Cup ground cumin
1/8 t black pepper
2 cans pinto beans
1 can dark kidney beans
1 can light kidney beans
1 can white beans
1 can black beans, washed
3/4 Cup brown sugar
1 Cup Ketchup
1/2 Cup yellow mustard
1 can chopped jalapeños, or to taste
1/2 t Cajun seasoning
Cook chopped bacon until crisp. Add burger, Kilbasa, onions and garlic to bacon grease, and cook until burger is done. Add cans of beans, with juice, except for black beans, without juice. Add all other ingredients, mix well and cook on 250 for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. Serve with grated cheese and chopped green onions. This recipe is my most called for bean fixings.

If you fix a pan of cornbread in your square Griswold skillet to go with ‘em, then you livin’ as good as it gets!
