Chris,

Thanks for the answer. Was I missing something in the flyer, or is this a "stealth" choice?

Ken,

Always good to hear from you. I may have some additional questions later. This particular obsession seems even more complicated than that other manufacturer we both patronize.

Likewise, it is good to see you here.

Both brands are superb, and they indeed have their own ordering quirks.

I guess you could classify it as a "stealth" choice. That's one way of putting it. To be sure, there are a great many things in the Randall lineup that aren't exactly in their mainstream media!! Glad to help. That's what this Randall ordering thread is all about.
Best, Capt. Chris

PS: Of course...when you put something "exotic" in the center the price can go from $60 extra to $120!!..."PLUS" the cost of the material!!! CCS

Capt, If I order a Model 25 or a Model 26 with a Model 25 handle/grip, can I get a green micarta middle instead of stag? Thanks 29R

Yes you can. I have some coming later on but nothing I can photograph right now. Green micarta along with black, ivorite and red & blue are available from the Randall shop. You can supply some "other" handle material if you wish, although it has to be cut to specs. I personally don't think there is enough handle center to show off the red & blue.
Next order...3 weeks or so, if you remind me, I have a #25-5" and a #25-6". The following order I have the #27-5 3/4" coming to match the other 2. Should be an interesting set-up. Hope this helps...
Best, Capt. Chris

Capt.,
Can you add a compass in the handle to an existing 7-5 knife?

As long as there is enough room and no butt cap, butt plate or wrist thong that might create a problem with the install...Yes: Price is $15.00.
Best, Capt. Chris

Is this true even if I have a late model that already has 5 options?

If you get in touch with the shop and speak to Valerie she can answer you as to your current knife, Pappy. If the knife is sent to shop it will be evaluated and a quote will be sent to you for your approval. If you do(did) this on a regular basis with brand new Randall knives with 5 options already installed...what do you think their answer is going to be? Randall has already had folks try this to "beat the system". On the other hand, on one occasion?? There will be a totally different way of looking at it. Every Randall sent in is handled individually...
Best, Capt. Chris
