Some limitations on that. The bigger blades (12s and 13s above 8") are not available in SS. Even that "rule" has a caveat: 12-9 no SS available, "12-9 14 grind" SS available. (see posts #2 and 3 of this thread way back on page 1.)

As a general rule: if it is offered with SS standard, you cannot request non-stainless. I can't think of any exceptions to this rule but one or two may exist.

Isn't it the exceptions that prove the rule? ;-)

One more quick note..

While the #6 grind is available with the 4-6, it is not available on the 4-6 fighter. I found out with my most recent quarterly order submission (friendly e-mail from RMK about it, asking how they should proceed with my order).

Just in case you were thinking about ordering one like that. smile

Discovering it through the forum and the authorized dealers, I'm more and more attracted by the Triathlete. I prefer it when it has a handle instead of the skeleton version. So my question is:" Is it possible to buy it already handled by the shop (with the handle material proposed by them) or do we have to do it ourselves? Although I'm not scared about abusing a knife in the field or about sharpening it, I'm thinking twice before working on it with files and grinder. Thanks.

Not available from the shop. I can have it done (professionally) by a couple of different sources.
Hope this helps, Capt. Chris
