The center split into slabs works on some models. I had a Bud Tracy knife with moose slabs and it looked and felt great.

Mine came from a big one we shot in eastern Norway in 1994. Usually there's one tine that is large enough to make a narrow tang knife handle. You can see it in David's picture, the third tine from the right. It's very dense and beautiful. Not much popcorn, though.

I had BMK make me a steak knife and fork using moose antler tips as handles. Great looking pair.
