I don't remember any stories about people being attacked or eaten by the pythons. But I would not put it past them.
There were articles online recently about a village in I think Indonesia...a lady went missing, her husband found her slippers, and then they found a python(?) with a huge bulge. They killed the snake and retrieved her body.
We do have some crocs in the 'Glades...not just the narrow-snout ones that are indigenous, but I think African variety that gets really big...they were somehow also brought in by fools.
Incidentally, one invasive lizard that has become numerous is the African rock lizard. They are colorful, probably up to 12 inches long, and fast. They would be more of a challenge to take out with an air gun than iguanas.
