Sloooow times in the summertime! Not much happening of late here on our beloved forums. Kinda' sad. I have an idea: I'd like to hear from some of our newer members (& veteran forumites as well), with regards to your favorite RMK..."OR"...what would be your favorite RMK to obtain!
Ya' never know: I could be smellin' out a "build"! Let's hear your thoughts, thanks.
Stay Sharp,
Capt. Chris
PS: One of my absolute favorites below...CCS

I have a real nice 11-5. I plan on adding a nice 11-3 1/2 and 11-4
to go with my 11-5

My current top picking is still the model 7 with model-6 grind.

We did a forum build of one of these back in 2016.

It's currently packed away since we're on the verge of moving, but here's an older photo:

Believe it or not, my favorite RMK is my FIRST one! I ordered it in the early 1960's. I've been accumulating RMKs ever since, but NONE has been more important to me than this one.

I suppose it is my 18-5.5. My dad wanted to get me a RMK but they did not have one at the shop. They did tell him he could order it and have it shipped but that would not work as we were leaving Benning soon. He found a buckmaster instead. It served well, aside from being large!

My trusty 5-4" is my latest favourite. That along with my old 5-5" with ST and a sheath Greg made for me, that fits on my belt, in the middle of my back.

Here's Rod's photo...(re-sized a good bit to fit)...Capt. Chris

I was able to get this from the good Captain and it is a keeper for sure as they are pretty rare. RMK drop point with ironwood, tapered tang slab handles

Originally called "The Griffin Drop Point Hunter", as Dave Griffin was instrumental in it's coming to life! Great knife. I hate getting rid of my "STASH" but this one, especially in ironwood, went to the right home.
Stay Sharp,
Capt. Chris

I'd like to get a Nordic special, but that wouldn't make a good build for you, Cap.

Another one on my list is a 5" Number 1. Who has some 1-5 photos?

Nordics would have to be built (& purchased) from Nordic...sorry. Hopefully we'll hear from "others" on this idea...maybe not??
Best,
Capt. Chris

I understand about the Nordic special.

But the 5" Number 1 is on my list, too.

That would be cool; single hilt and either a border patrol or SFG.

Doesn't help with a build but a model 25-5 is about as good a Randall as it gets, for me. No double hilt getting in the way, thin grind with a deep belly and a really handy pouch sheath.

Build wise, what hasn't been done over the years? In my short time here there's been a handful or so, I don't remember all the models.

"The Griffin Drop Point Hunter" - That would be really cool to do again! Or #25 without choil with handle from #20))) Took a photo of a drop point from the green catalog and a little bit of photoshop. Although with choil blade from #25 SS with such a handle it would look perfect, especially from Ivorite or white paper micarta, NS and Al/black spacers
