My question: A model 25 is available with a n/s hilt and a dura butt (brass available upon request.). The RMK site states "Name etching, stainless blade, and wrist thong only options available." So, a n/s butt is not available to match the hilt?

Thanks Captain, Rules are rules, and I respect that.

Gary,
As far as the "only" options available on a certain model...we could go on and on with "exceptions" to the rule. Nickel silver butt caps being just one. Antique gold, black, green, maroon, rosewood, walnut, ironwood and maple are all available as "centers" for a Model #25, #26, and #27. The shop does not like installing nickel silver butt caps, as it slows them down. It is available, however.
Dubie: No need to apologize. Believe you me, over the years I have posted stuff that is not doable. It just adds to the confusion, and we, as Randall knife freaks, are confused enough on our own!! Best, Capt. Chris

I have a 14 on order with the shop that I requested a border patrol handle with. I was re-reading the catalog and saw that a BPH on a 14 gets a #1 style hilt. Can I get the standard 14 hilt with the BPH or do I need to change my handle choice to get the 14 hilt?

I believe you can, Jerry. For example, here's a border patrol 14 with forward curve that a member (Tom Glasscock) posted on this forum in the thread titled "Model of the week - Model 14".

Hey Cap,

Can you tell me if the following is do-able>

Model 15, full-tang
Carbon Blade
ST/NST grind
Thumb notches
Border Patrol shape handle, black micarta
Wrist Thong
Single nickle silver hilt
Brown, high ride sheath.

If I decided to go with a #1 style double hilt instead of the single-hilt, would that be a chargeable option?

Thanks,

Keith

Keith,
No "high-ride" sheaths are available for this model, but all of the rest is a "doable" build. Nickel silver single hilt is chargeable. If you go with a double hilt, instead of a single, it is only chargeable if you want nickel silver. Brass double hilts are standard. Best, Capt. Chris

Jerry,
Yes, as is pictured in the pics posted after yours, double hilts can be had: standard, forward curved or #1 style with a border patrol handle. Best, Capt. Chris

Thanks Cap!

Just curious, are "high-ride" sheaths available from the shop for other models?

Keith,
The only "hi-ride" sheath available is standard with the "Fireman Special". Anything else will have to be special-ordered through Sullivan's Leather. Best, Capt. Chris
